Small weddings are not scaled-down big weddings. They reward a completely different kind of venue.
The intimate wedding is now a settled choice rather than a compromise. Sixty guests, two days, people who actually know the couple. What has not caught up is the venue stock: most of it is still built for four hundred, and a banquet hall holding sixty reads as a hall that failed to fill.
An estate solves this differently. It does not scale down — it was never a hall to begin with.
What a private estate gives a small wedding
The setting is already the decor. Lawns, stone, mature planting and a lit pool do most of the visual work. Budget that would have gone on masking a hall goes into food, flowers and photography instead.
Guests stay where the wedding is. Six en-suite bedrooms accommodate the immediate family on site. Nobody drives back to a hotel at midnight, and the mehendi does not end because transport is waiting.
The day has no handover. Because the property is booked whole, functions run into each other naturally — morning haldi on the lawn, evening on the terrace, the after-party by the pool.
The practical questions worth asking any venue
- Is it exclusively ours? If another event can be booked alongside, it is not a private wedding.
- What is the honest capacity seated, not standing? These numbers differ a lot.
- Who cooks? An in-house kitchen and an outsourced caterer produce very different days.
- What time does music have to stop? Ask before you book, not after.
- Where do the sixty guests who are not staying actually park?
- What happens if it rains? Every outdoor venue needs a real answer.
Where Palmwood Hills fits
Roughly two acres, six en-suite bedrooms, one of the largest private pools in the area, lawns that take a seated dinner comfortably, and an in-house culinary team rather than a contracted caterer — minutes from Gurugram, so guests from across Delhi NCR are not committing to a highway.
It suits a wedding of sixty to a hundred and twenty far better than one of four hundred. We would rather say that plainly than take a booking the property cannot do justice to.
Timing
October to March is the obvious window and it books furthest ahead — for those dates, six to nine months is not early. Monsoon dates are genuinely available at shorter notice and work well for couples who want the estate to themselves without competing for the calendar.
Send us the date you are considering and a rough guest count, and we will tell you straight away whether the estate is the right shape for it.
